Extremis E-mail Disruption
22nd October 2019 Apologies to anyone who has been unable to reach us via e-mail recently. It has come to our attention that a number of e-mails to our company address have bounced back to their recipients, while other messages haven't arrived at all and several have been delayed for days before arrival. The service provider responsible for hosting our e-mail server has been experiencing major technical difficulties over the past 10-14 days. To this end, we are currently in the process of transferring to a new service provider and normal e-mail access should be restored within the next few days. 12th September 2019 Congratulations to Dr Murray Cook, whose forthcoming book Digging into Stirling's Past has been featured in articles appearing in The Herald and The Courier on 11th September 2019. Not long now until Murray's book will be released - the launch date will be on Monday 30th September. Also, Murray will be giving a lecture on the history of the Abbey Craig as part of the National Wallace Monument's 150th anniversary lecture series. 20th August 2019 Great news for author David M. Addison, whose feature 'Bravo Rocha Brava!' has appeared in the August 2019 edition of Bond Magazine, the official journal of the Holiday Property Bond. David's article, which is on pages 54-55, looks in detail at his visit to Cape St Vincent - the most south-westerly point in mainland Europe - and discusses the fascinating history of this beautiful and ancient settlement. |
Clackmannanshire Libraries Presentation
16th August 2019 Many thanks to Clackmannanshire Library Services for inviting Extremis Publishing to give a presentation about the company's work to members of the public. Taking place at Tillicoultry's Ben Cleuch Centre on Thursday 15th August, directors Julie and Tom Christie were on hand to talk about the process of publishing non-fiction books and the changing challenges that were facing the industry. A lively Q&A session followed, and there was plenty of opportunity to talk about writing, publishing and what the future of the literary world might look like. Introducing Dr Murray Cook
8th August 2019 Extremis Publishing is delighted to announce the latest author to join our catalogue. Dr Murray Cook is Stirling Council’s Archaeologist, who has undertaken numerous excavations across Scotland and published over 40 articles as well as a book about his research. Murray is an Honorary Research Fellow at Stirling University, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. He was conferred the Stirling’s Provost Award in 2018 for his work for the Council, where he has helped raise over £300,000 to be spent on community archaeology and research. Murray has appeared on several TV programmes, writes a regular column in the Stirling Observer, and runs Stirling Archaeology - a Facebook page dedicated to Stirling’s fantastic heritage. We will soon be announcing details of Murray's first book with Extremis Publishing, so watch this space for further information in the near future. |

A Road Trip Around the Heart of Scotland
2nd July 2019 Scotland's brand new Heart 200 route was formally launched yesterday at a special event held at Loch Leven's Larder in Kinross. The route covers roughly 200 miles around Perthshire and Stirlingshire, and takes in some stunning parts of the country as well as many unexpected attractions and activities along the way. Extremis Publishing's Director and resident pop culture guru Dr Thomas A. Christie has contributed the Route Guide and Film & TV Guide to the Heart 200's official website, which highlights some of the amazing things to see and do in this area of Scotland. 24th April 2019 Two Extremis Publishing authors will be making public appearances over the next few weeks to talk about their work.
