In his book Dying Harder: Action Movies of the 1980s, Dr Colin M. Barron discusses the success of Predator, Lethal Weapon, and many other influential action features of that landmark decade of cinema. By the end of the 1980s, the action movie genre had made an indelible impact effect upon the American film industry, and Dying Harder explores the reasons why this category of film came to be so compelling in the eyes of audiences and commentators alike.
