A highly skilled orator, Churchill gave many memorable speeches in his long career, and some of his techniques are discussed in Colin M. Thirty Years of The Very Big Cave Adventure
15th July 2016 In July 1986, the CRL Group and St Bride's released one of the most refined interactive fiction parodies that the Sinclair ZX Spectrum would ever see. The Very Big Cave Adventure was a satire of the genre-defining Colossal Cave Adventure, programmed in the 1970s by Will Crowther and Don Woods. But its relentless lampoonery didn't stop there; nothing from Lewis Carroll to D.C. Comics was safe from the developers' serrated wit. The game's humour was so sophisticated that it is still being enjoyed by retro gaming enthusiasts even today, thirty years after its first appearance in shops. The Very Big Cave Adventure is just one of a hundred classic Spectrum text adventure games that are discussed in Thomas A. Christie's book The Spectrum of Adventure. Find out more by ordering your copy today. |
